Aide - Teachers

Main responsibilities: Help the teacher prepare lessons, materials, and classroom activities Assist students with assignments, reading, or understanding instructions Supervise students during class, lunch, recess, or field trips Help manage classroom behavior and keep students on task Support students with special needs, including physical or learning disabilities Skills and qualities: Patience and strong communication skills Ability to work well with children of different ages and abilities Work environment: Teacher's aides typically work in classrooms, but they may also assist in libraries, computer labs, or special education settings.

Overall purpose:

Their main role is to make the teacher's job easier and to give students more individualized attention, helping create a smoother and more effective learning environment. $17.00/hour - must be fingerprinted through NYS Teach System. Cost is $104.50, which is reimbursable after 6 consecutive months of employment.
