Our Pelham-based preschool, ACDS Pelham, is seeking an enthusiastic, caring Teacher Assistant to support children ages 3 to 5 in our special education classrooms. Why Join ACDS Pelham? 25 hours/week) 45-week school year with 7 weeks of paid vacation built in Hands-On Experience Perfect for education majors, aspiring teachers, or anyone committed to the success of children with special needs Practicum hours may be eligible for completion onsite Professional Growth Earn your Teaching Assistant Level 1 Certificate with full support from ACDS Reimbursement and a pay increase once certified What You'll Do Assist with daily routines including feeding, toileting, diapering, and play-based learning Help maintain a warm, engaging, and supportive classroom setting Work closely with teachers and therapists to implement individualized educational goals Encourage communication, independence, and developmental progress in young children
What We're Looking For Experience:
Prior experience working with children required; experience with children with disabilities is highly valued
Preferred Skills:
ABA (Applied Behavior Analysis) experience a plus
Education:
High school diploma or GED required
Other Requirements:
Minimum 1 year of childcare or classroom experience; strong passion for working with young learners with special needs
