This role includes helping guide children throughout the school day, supporting classroom routines and transitions, supervising lunch and recess, and assisting with the social, emotional, and physical care of children. The Assistant Teacher may also help support the school's extended day (X-Day) program, napping and non-napping programs, and other afternoon childcare responsibilities as needed. Duties Support the Lead Teacher in maintaining a calm, organized, and developmentally appropriate Montessori classroom environment. Supervise and support children during lunch, recess, transitions, and rest time. Assist with classroom preparation, materials, and daily routines. Help care for children's emotional, physical, and social well-being throughout the school day. Support positive behavior guidance and respectful communication with children. Assist with napping and non-napping programming. Potentially supervise and support students during the X-Day/extended care program as needed. Collaborate with faculty and staff to support a positive and caring school culture. Maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and clear communication with families and colleagues. Experience Experience working with young children preferred. Montessori experience or Montessori credential preferred but not required. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required. Warm, patient, collaborative, and dependable.
Pay:
$20,000.00 - $25,000.00 per year
