We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated individual to join our educational team as a Classroom Paraprofessional. This role involves providing essential support to teachers and students, including individualized 1:1 assistance for students with specific needs. Student Support:
Assist and support students with diverse learning needs, including those with individualized education plans (IEPs). Provide one-on-one (1:1) support to a designated student, tailoring assistance to meet their unique educational, behavioral, and social needs. Reinforce classroom lessons and offer personalized instruction under the direction of the classroom teacher to ensure the student's success.Classroom Assistance:
Collaborate with teachers to implement instructional activities and support classroom management. Assist in the preparation and organization of classroom materials and resources.Behavioral Support:
Implement behavior intervention strategies provided by the teacher to address individual student needs. Foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment for all students. Student Support inVarious Settings:
Assist the designated student during classroom activities, transitions, and other settings as needed. Ensure the safety and well-being of the student at all times. As necessary, assist students with physical needs, including mobility, feeding, and personal hygiene, restroom assistance.Communication:
Maintain open and effective communication with teachers and school staff regarding the progress and needs of the student receiving 1:1 support. Collaborate with the teaching team to provide feedback on student performance and adjust support strategies accordingly. Confidentiality - Maintain strict confidentiality of student information at all times.Assessment Support:
Assist in the administration and scoring of assessments under the guidance of the teacher. Provide feedback on the student's work and assist with data collection specific to the student's individual goals. Ability to use technology effectively, including Google Workspace (Docs, Sheets, Classroom).Adaptation and Differentiation:
Support the implementation of accommodations and modifications for students with diverse needs. Assist in adapting instructional materials to meet individual student requirements.Professional Development:
Participate in training sessions and professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge. Attend training sessions and professional development related to special education. (Required to obtain ParaPro certification and Behavior Management Training as assigned). Perform other related duties as assigned by the supervisor or administrator.Qualifications:
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's degree or coursework in education is a plus). Previous experience working with students in an educational setting preferred. Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Patience, flexibility, and a genuine desire to support student learning and development. Ohio Educational Aide Permit with Elementary and Secondary Education Act (ESEA) endorsement ESEA endorsement is obtained by passing the ParaPro Assessment; or holding an associate's degree; or having at least 2 years of study at an accredited institution of higher education Previous experience working with children, particularly those with disabilities, is highly desirable. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Patience, empathy, and a passion for supporting students with special needs. Ability to handle physical tasks such as lifting and assisting students with mobility.Attributes:

Frequent walking, standing, sitting, reaching, hearing, and fine motor tasks; occasional crouching, kneeling, and lifting.Environment:
Moderate risk environment requiring safety precautions (working with students in crisis, exposure to illness, etc.).
