Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a dedicated and adaptable Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our early childhood education team. This role involves supporting classroom teachers, assisting with lesson implementation, and providing a nurturing environment for children across various age groups. The ideal candidate will have a passion for child development, experience working with children, and the flexibility to cover different classrooms as needed. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to a positive learning environment while gaining valuable experience in early childhood education settings, including daycare, preschool, private schools, and specialized programs such as Montessori or programs for children with autism or disabilities. Duties Assist lead teachers in planning and implementing engaging lesson plans focused on literacy, math, and overall curriculum development. Support classroom management and behavior management strategies to foster a safe and respectful environment. Provide direct care and supervision for children, including toddler care and preschool activities. Adapt instructional methods to meet the needs of children with diverse abilities, including those with autism or disabilities. Help create a stimulating learning environment by organizing materials and classroom activities. Support children's social-emotional development through positive interactions and communication skills. Collaborate with staff on curriculum development and classroom setup to enhance learning experiences. Cover different classrooms as a floater, ensuring continuity of care and instruction across multiple age groups or programs. Maintain open communication with parents regarding children's progress and daily activities. Follow all safety protocols and maintain cleanliness in the classroom setting. Skills Experience with early childhood education, including preschool, toddler care, or daycare environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and behavior management techniques. Familiarity with special education practices, working with children with autism or disabilities, and working with people with disabilities. Strong classroom management skills and ability to implement curriculum effectively. Experience in lesson planning for literacy education, math, and curriculum development tailored to young learners. Excellent communication skills for interacting with children, parents, and staff effectively. Ability to work collaboratively within a team of educators and support staff. Flexibility to float between classrooms and adapt to different age groups or program needs. Experience working in private schools or Montessori settings is a plus. This role is ideal for passionate educators committed to fostering a supportive learning environment that promotes growth, curiosity, and development among young children.

$10.50 - $11.00 per year Expected hours: 20 - 25 per week
