Position Summary:
Responsible for providing excellent and safe instruction, motivation, and support to YMCA members and program participants in programs, and for the cleanliness and general upkeep of the aquatics area. Essential Functions:
Assists with swim instruction private and group instruction sessions in accordance with YMCA standards and guidelines Ensures safety by communicating and enforcing pool rules, policies and guidelines at participant's comprehension level. Trains participants in a manner that is both demonstrative and professional. Assists with set up and stores needed equipment Begins and ends every session on time Takes attendance of class each time class is held Maintains a clean and sanitary environment and meets all state and local licensing requirements. Provides excellent member's service. Promotes aquatics and other YMCA programs. Communicates to direct supervisor any concerns, needed repairs, or incidents that may need follow-up. Communicates any suggestions to improve the aquatics facility.
Qualifications:
Must be at least 15 years of age. High school diploma or GED preferred. Minimum of six months or more of related swim instruction experience preferred.
