Job Description

The Madison Early Childhood Learning Center (MECLC) is a licensed Preschool and Childcare program. The program provides childcare for children 6 weeks
  • 12 years old, and is open Monday
  • Friday / 6:30am
  • 6:00pm.
MECLC currently has 1 part time (approx 12:30 pm to 6:00 pm M-F) Assistant Teacher position open and 1 full time Assistant Teacher position (9:00 am to 6:00 pm M-F). The hours of the position vary depending on the needs of the program.
Minimum Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent / CDA preferred 2 years of childcare experience Meets all mandated health requirements (e.g., medical exam, etc.) Documentation of a clear criminal record Complies with drug-free workplace rules and board policies Initial successful completion of communicable disease, child abuse and neglect, CPR and first aid training a plus Knowledge of SUTQ and ODE licensing rules a plus
Key Responsibilities:
Provide the children with a safe, positive, and nurturing environment. Prepare with the Lead Teacher the weekly plans and to prepare the materials needed for the projects. Fulfill clerical duties including; displays, CACFP (food program), etc. Provide care and assistance for children with feeding, diapering, toilet training, and selfcare. Create both positive independent and social experiences for a children to assist with emotional support, building self confidence, and self-awareness. Evidence of sufficient security and judgment to handle a variety of situations.
Duties may require:
Lifting, carrying, moving children and work-related supplies and equipment. Traveling to meetings and work assignments for professional development. Working under time constraints to meet deadlines.

$13.00
