Job Description

Overview Join our vibrant early childhood education team as an Assistant Pre-K Teacher, where your enthusiasm and dedication will help foster a nurturing, engaging, and educational environment for young learners. In this role, you will support lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans, managing classroom activities, and promoting positive behavior among preschool children. Your energy and commitment will contribute to laying a strong foundation for children's social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Our Pre-K program is rooted in intentional learning experiences, play-based exploration, and strong classroom relationships. The Assistant Teacher will work closely with the Lead Teacher and administrative team to help create a warm, engaging, and well-managed classroom environment that supports school readiness and whole-child development. This position offers meaningful opportunities for professional growth and leadership development within our expanding early learning program. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans, classroom routines, and age-appropriate learning activities Help maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment Foster positive relationships with children through patience, encouragement, and responsive interactions Assist with transitions, meals, toileting, rest time, outdoor play, and daily classroom flow Encourage social-emotional growth, independence, and positive peer interactions Support classroom behavior management using positive guidance techniques Communicate professionally and compassionately with families during drop-off, pick-up, and throughout the day as needed Collaborate closely with fellow teachers and administrators to ensure consistency and strong teamwork across the center Maintain compliance with all Ohio licensing and center policies and procedures Participate in trainings, staff meetings, and ongoing professional development opportunities Qualifications/Experience High school diploma or equivalent required Experience working with young children preferred CDA, Early Childhood Education coursework, or willingness to pursue professional development is a plus Prior classroom experience working with preschool or early childhood education is highly preferred. Ability to work collaboratively and professionally within a team environment Strong communication and organizational skills Dependable, adaptable, and able to remain calm in a busy classroom setting Must be able to meet all state-required background checks and training requirements Demonstrated commitment to child welfare or early intervention programs. Familiarity with daycare settings or private school environments demonstrates adaptability to diverse educational contexts.
