Job Description

Job Summary We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our dynamic educational team. In this vital role, you will support classroom teachers in creating a nurturing, engaging, and inclusive learning environment for children across early childhood and special education settings. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help foster the development of young learners, ensuring they receive personalized attention that promotes their academic, social, and emotional growth. This paid position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on children's lives while gaining valuable experience in education. Responsibilities Assist lead teachers in implementing curriculum plans aligned with developmental milestones and educational standards, including literacy, math, and social skills. Support classroom management by encouraging positive behavior and facilitating a respectful, safe environment for all students. Help prepare instructional materials, set up learning activities, and organize classroom spaces to promote active engagement. Assist with daily childcare routines such as diapering, feeding, and supervising toddlers or preschoolers in accordance with best practices like Montessori or preschool methodologies. Collaborate with teachers to develop lesson plans that incorporate early childhood education principles and adapt strategies for diverse learners. Qualifications Prior experience working with children in classroom or childcare settings is highly preferred. Knowledge of childhood development theories and early childhood education practices. Familiarity with special education techniques, including behavior management strategies and curriculum development for students with disabilities. Proficiency in American Sign Language (ASL) is a plus but not required; willingness to learn is encouraged. Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with teachers, parents, and students. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively while maintaining a calm and supportive demeanor.
Pay:
$13.00 - $15.00 per hour
