Job Description

JOB DESCRIPTION ASSISTANT TEACHER
The Assistant Teacher supports the Master Teacher in implementing developmentally appropriate curriculum and maintaining a safe, nurturing, and engaging classroom environment. This role requires consistent communication with families, adherence to licensing regulations, and a strong commitment to the health, safety, and development of children.

9:00 AM•6:00 PM The Assistant Teacher will perform the following duties:
Essential Job Functions:
Assist the Master Teacher with planning and implementing short•and long-range classroom activities aligned with curriculum objectives, developmentally appropriate practices, and program philosophy Contribute input for annual parent conferences regarding children's growth and development Maintain daily, open communication with parents and guardians Complete and maintain accident reports and anecdotal records Ensure confidentiality of children, families, and staff information Report any suspected child abuse or neglect immediately to the Education Manager and/or Center Director in accordance with mandated reporter requirements Arrange and maintain a classroom environment that supports program goals and learning outcomes Maintain a safe, clean, and healthy learning environment Inspect classroom materials and report or replace damaged or missing items Attend required in-service trainings and staff meetings Complete a minimum of 20 clock hours of job-related training annually Maintain accurate records including attendance and time sheets Comply with all applicable state licensing and regulatory requirements
Education and Experience:
Must be at least 18 years of age High school diploma or GED required CDA (Child Development Associate Credential) preferred but not required
Requirements:
Ability to work the scheduled hours of 9:00 AM•6:00 PM Successful completion of a criminal history background investigation Demonstrates the ability to perform assigned job duties independently and responsibly Ability to identify and respond appropriately to safety hazards indoors and outdoors Works with children using positive guidance techniques without physical punishment, mistreatment, or abuse Demonstrates sound judgment to ensure the health and safety of children Sensitive to the developmental, emotional, and family needs of children Ability to remain calm and exercise good judgment in crisis or emergency situations Dependable, punctual, and reliable Ability to maintain simple written and electronic records Physical Requirements Ability to lift and/or carry children weighing up to 70 pounds Ability to bend, kneel, squat, walk, and stand for extended periods Ability to run short distances in emergency situations to assist a child
Pay:
$15.00 per hour
