Job Description
Position Description:
Major responsibility is to assist with delivering activities provided in within a specific program area, such as Education, Social Recreation, Arts & Crafts and Physical Education, Health & Life Skills. Duties Ensure programs, services and activities that prepare youth for success, always promoting safety of members and quality in program. Provide guidance and role modeling to members. Responsible for coordinating, promoting and stimulating participation in programs at the Club. Ensure a healthy and safe environment, supervising member in program area. Effectively implement and administer programs, services and activities for drop-in members and visitors. Prepare periodic activity reports. Program Assistants will ensure programs and activities occur as scheduled. This includes but are not limited to: T.R.A.I.L. and Power Hour. Prior to its start, program assistants will ensure all equipment needed for programs/activities is gathered and in working order. Program Assistants will actively engage Club members in programs and activities and encourage participation by all members. Program Assistants will ensure all program areas are left clean and free from trash at the end of the evening. Nightly cleaning schedules for each program area are followed.Additional Responsibilities:
Per each program requirements all paperwork must be completed completely and accurately as needed (Monthly mentoring, daily attendance; time sheets submitted by deadline, added correctly with hours.) Handle other duties and responsibilities deemed necessary or important as assigned by the Unit Director, Program Director or Chief Executive Officer.Relationships:

Maintain contact with external community groups, schools, members' parents and others to assist in resolving problems.Skills/Knowledge Required:
A High School Diploma or equivalent. A thorough knowledge of Boys & Girls Clubs of Delaware County's mission, objectives, policies, programs and procedures. Ability to manage multiple tasks and develop solutions to problems with limited supervision. Ability and desire to work with youth ages 5-18. Knowledge of youth development. Mandatory CPR, First Aid and AED Certifications. Ability to motivate youth and manage behavior problems. Must possess excellent verbal and written skills. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all Club personnel, Board of Directors and club parents.Physical Requirements/Work Environment:
Should be physically fit to engage in Club programs when necessary; may require being active for long periods of time. Hear and understand speech at normal levels; speak in audible tones so that others may understand clearly; physical agility to lift up to 50 pounds.Work Environment:
