The Assistant Teacher plays a vital role in helping children develop academically, socially, emotionally, physically, and spiritually while fostering positive relationships with families and staff. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in implementing daily lesson plans and classroom activities. Assist in creating a positive, engaging, and developmentally appropriate learning environment. Supervise and interact with children throughout the day, ensuring their safety and well-being. Encourage positive behavior and model respectful, Christ-like interactions. Assist with classroom preparation, organization, and cleanliness. Support children during meals, rest time, transitions, and daily routines. Observe and communicate children's progress and needs to the Lead Teacher. Build positive relationships with families and maintain professional communication. Participate in chapel, special events, family engagement activities, and community outreach opportunities. Follow all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and school policies. Work collaboratively with classroom teams and school leadership. Qualifications High school diploma or GED required. CDA, early childhood coursework, or experience in a childcare or educational setting preferred. Passion for working with young children. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Dependable, professional, and organized. Ability to meet physical requirements of working with young children, including lifting, bending, and active supervision. Current CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain.
