SALARY RANGE
$8.08 - $14.94 May be assigned to provide services to other entities including but not limited to Indian Children and will require a criminal history background screening.
ALL FULL TIME POSITIONS
In addition to your pay, your salary also includes Medical, Dental and Vision Insurance. The Biweekly deduction from employee paycheck is $40.00 for Employee Only, $95.00 Employee plus Children, $120.00 Employee plus Spouse, and $140.00 Employee plus family.
JOB SUMMARY
Provide WIC service to potentially eligible clients.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
WIC issuance, typing, income assessment, monthly reports, and appointment scheduling. Inform people in the community of available food resources, nutrition services, programs; explain the WIC program, eligibility requirements, and encourage people to participate. Maintain required record accurately. Conduct simple diet interviews to obtain routine information to be used as a basis for teaching better food preparation. Provide basic diet instruction on normal nutrition for nutritional stress groups; prenatal, lactating mothers, infants and pre-school children. Interpret written materials and oral statements where language or literacy barriers exist. Help teach individuals, families, and groups to increase their ability to purchase and prepare foods that meet their nutritional standards. Improve methods of food storage, sanitation and safety. Develop skills in managing food resources, including the WIC program, through individual counseling, classes, demonstrations, and other appropriate means. Other duties as assigned. Must have and maintain valid Oklahoma Driver's license.
ADDITIONAL RESPONSIBILITIES
: Perform other duties and projects as required by management including assisting other WIC staff in day-to-day operations to maintain efficient and functioning clinic environments.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS FOR CONSIDERATION
Follow a deliberate and continuous self-improvement program designed to improve and eventually increase job performance. Ability to file both numerical and alphabetically. Ability to work with the public and handle any complaints. Basic knowledge of human nutrition and its relation to health and disease. Genuine interest and empathy for people. Ability to accept supervision and to maintain effective working relationships with WIC staff and clients. Ability to adapt to various situations, to develop responsible work habits, and to exercise mature, unbiased judgement. Basic computer skills. Knowledge of the environmental and home conditions in communities served by the agency and of the problems and attitudes of the people residing there. Completion of course work above the High School level in nutrition and health related fields, or any equivalent training and experience.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Ability to be seated for prolonged periods of time while performing repetitive work at the computer. Some bending, stretching and lifting.
WORKING CONDITIONS
: Normal office environment.
