Teacher Aide (Japanese/English) Cherryblossom Preschool & Childcare Beaverton, OR Job Details Part-time $18 - $22 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications CPR Certification Japanese Full Job Description Overview We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Teacher Aide (Japanese and English speaking beginners to advance), to support classroom teachers and enhance the learning environment for students. Don't worry if you don't speak Japanese, as long as you are willing to learn! This role is ideal for individuals passionate about early childhood education, special education, and working with children of diverse needs. The Teacher Aide will assist with instructional activities, classroom management, and student support to foster a positive and inclusive educational experience. Experience working with children, especially those with disabilities or in daycare settings, is highly valued. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to the development of young learners in a nurturing environment. Duties Assist teachers with lesson planning and implementing curriculum across subjects such as literacy, math, and behavior management. Support students with special needs, including those with autism or disabilities, ensuring they receive appropriate assistance. Help manage classroom activities to promote a safe, engaging, and inclusive learning environment. Provide one-on-one or small group support to students during instructional time and activities. Support early childhood development through age-appropriate activities for toddlers, preschoolers, and kindergarteners. Assist with classroom organization, including preparing materials and maintaining cleanliness. Implement behavior management strategies to encourage positive conduct among students. Communicate effectively with students, teachers, parents, and other staff members to support student progress. Experience Prior experience working with children in daycare, preschool, private school, or similar settings is preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, including working with children with autism or disabilities. Experience in lesson planning, curriculum development, and classroom management techniques. Familiarity with early childhood education principles such as Montessori or preschool methodologies is a plus. Demonstrated ability to work effectively with children of various ages and developmental stages. Strong communication skills and the ability to collaborate as part of a team dedicated to student success. Must pass background check and have required certification (CPR, Mandatory State Training)
