Instructional Assistant Valley Inquiry Charter School Salem, OR Job Details Full-time $18 - $33 an hour 1 hour ago Benefits Paid time off Retirement plan Qualifications High school diploma or GED Working with students Paraprofessional Certification Associate's degree Child Development Associate Certification Teaching ESL Certification Time management Full Job Description Duties include, but are not limited to, the following: Assisting in the implementation of inquiry-based and interdisciplinary learning experiences for students, providing feedback to the teacher on student performance in tutorials, assessments, and other activities. Offering classroom support by working 1:1 with students who need additional academic, behavioral, or emotional assistance to ensure their success. Under the direction of a licensed teacher, providing supplemental practice for various learning experiences using inquiry-based strategies to foster critical thinking and problem-solving skills. Helping students develop positive interpersonal relationships with peers and adults; assisting individual students with behavioral or emotional needs, promoting self-regulation and conflict resolution. Observing and recording student progress; reporting any academic, behavioral, or developmental concerns to the teacher or administrator. Assisting in implementing behavior management programs, helping students develop emotional regulation and interpersonal skills; serving as a role model for students. Preparing instructional materials, including the creation of visual aids, learning centers, and inquiry-based projects. Supervising students in a variety of settings, including the playground, hallways, and classroom transitions. Assisting with supervision during student transportation when necessary. Performing clerical duties, including attendance, student data entry, and the preparation of materials. Following medical protocols for students as needed, including feeding, bathroom assistance, and medication management. Supporting students in using program-specific software, including those used for inquiry-based learning and student records.
