Job Description

Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

Location:
Carbon County & Lehigh County, PA (Carbon Lehigh IU 21)
Pay:
$23.50/hour (Weekly Pay)
Term:
2026-2027 School Year (August 10, 2026 - June 11, 2027) Role Overview We are looking for 40 dedicated Paraprofessionals to support students in School Age and Early Intervention programs for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year. These roles are critical in providing instructional and personal care support under the direction of certified staff.
Shift Options:
School Age:
35 hours/week (Full-Time)
Early Intervention:
29 hours/week (Part-Time)
Schedule:
Standard school day hours (ranging from 7:00 AM - 3:30 PM depending on assignment).
Requirements & Qualifications Experience:
Minimum 1+ years of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education setting.
Commute:
Must reside within 35 minutes of Lehigh or Carbon County.
State Credentialing:
Must meet one of the following Pennsylvania requirements: Completed at least two years of post-secondary study (48+ college credits). Possess an Associate's degree or higher. Hold a Credential of Competency for Special Education Paraeducators in PA (or be willing to obtain it within 60 days of hire). Key Responsibilities & Environment Provide support in various classroom settings (assignments determined upon full clearance). Be comfortable assisting with behavioral needs (which may include hitting, spitting, screaming, or elopement). Provide physical assistance, including lifting, diapering, and/or toileting when necessary.

In-person interviews are held once a week on a first-come, first-served basis.
