In this vital role, you will work closely with teachers, students, and families to support the academic, social, and emotional development of children with diverse learning needs. Your enthusiasm and commitment will help create an inclusive classroom environment where every student can thrive. Responsibilities Assist classroom teachers in implementing individualized education plans (IEPs) tailored to each student's unique needs. Support students with disabilities, specifically those with Emotional Disturbance by providing targeted instructional assistance. Use effective behavior management strategies to promote positive behavior and classroom safety. Facilitate communication with students using Love & Logic Help prepare instructional materials and adapt curriculum content for diverse learners, including literacy and math activities. Supervise students during classroom activities, community outings, lunch, and transitions to ensure a safe and engaging environment. Collaborate with teachers and specialists on lesson planning, classroom management techniques, and progress monitoring. Requirements Prior experience working with children in K-8 education or classrooms for students with disabilities is highly preferred. Knowledge of special education practices, including IEP development and implementation. Familiarity with teaching methods such as Universal Design for Learning (UDL) is a plus. Experience working with individuals who have ED, ADHD, or developmental disabilities is desirable. Strong communication skills to effectively interact with students, staff, and families. Ability to manage classroom behavior positively and constructively. Certification or coursework in deaf education or literacy education is advantageous.
