Summary:
The Secretary to the Assistant Directors of Teaching/Learning is responsible for the day to day office functions of the Education Department.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
The employee will be required to be consistently at work and perform any other position-related duties requested by the Assistant Director and Department Supervisors. Below is an illustration but not exclusive or limited to: Coordinate meetings for the Assistant Director and Department Supervisors, including scheduling, location logistics, participant coordination, and agenda preparation. Provide administrative support, including typing, filing, managing correspondence, and handling confidential materials. Screen incoming calls and mail; take messages and return calls as needed to gather information or respond to inquiries. Prepare letters and other correspondence. Assist with preparation and monitoring of budgets. Perform other duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
To successfully perform this position, a person must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The qualification requirements listed below represent minimum levels of educational achievement, training, skill and/or ability necessary. High school diploma or equivalent necessary Proficiency in the use of Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Access Possess effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff and outside professional contacts Qualified candidate will be required to: Use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls, and to talk and hear Sit and occasionally be required to stand, walk, stoop, kneel and crouch Have specific vision abilities to include close vision, color vision, and the ability to adjust focus Have the ability to lift and/or move up to 25 pounds Possess effective communication, judgmental, planning and human relations skills Be required to work under periods of stress due to the level of the position responsibility
Reporting Relationships:
Reports directly to the Assistant Directors of Teaching/Learning and indirectly to the Director of Teaching/Learning. Works cooperatively with other administrators, supervisors, staff, parents and others to perform job responsibilities as outlined
Terms of Employment:
This position is a 12 month position. Salary (step/level placement) & Benefits are as described in the current Collective Bargaining Agreement. Group 2: starting at $22.46 per hour (2026-2027 fiscal year)
