Part-Time Preschool Assistant Teacher (26/27 School Year)

Job description Paxton Presbyterian Nursery School is hiring for the 26-27 School Year! We are looking for an energetic Assistant Teacher to join our team in our 2 year classroom. This position schedule:

Monday through Thursday from 8:45-11:45am.

Essential Duty:

Job Summary:

The assistant teacher is responsible for providing safe and developmentally appropriate activities for a group of children. The assistant teacher supports the classroom teacher in creating a classroom environment that addresses the needs of the whole child, fosters children's natural curiosity, and prepares them for the world.

Essential Functions:

Assist with lesson planning Identify barriers to learning and report to Teacher Maintain positive relationships with families, allowing Teacher to address concerns to parents Promote feelings of trust and security in the program Assist in completion of timely, neat, accurate documentation of Keep classroom and hallway bulletin boards looking fresh and inviting Simple daily house cleaning duties in each classroom Greet participants and guests warmly and enthusiastically each day Maintain safe, clean environment, teaching and modeling good hygiene skills Helping students potty/diaper Assist teacher will other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications:

Two years of classroom teaching experience in a licensed preschool a plus Proficiency in communication skills, both oral and written

Possible Schedules:

Monday through Thursday 8:45am-11:45am (This is a September - May position ) Must possess or be able to possess all childcare/education clearances.

Education/Experience:

Must be able to move freely in and out of classrooms and work on the child's level of sight Must be able to lift 35 pounds. Monday through Thursday, 8:45am-11:45am $14.50/hour
