Job Description

Historic Fair Hill is a nonprofit, located in the Fairhill section of North Philadelphia. Our work started with the restoration of a historic Quaker burial ground on Germantown Avenue. It now serves as a community gathering place, an outdoor classroom, and an arboretum. Honoring the legacies of the abolitionists and activists buried there and those who restored it, Historic Fair Hill is committed to partnering with the Fairhill community on social justice issues of today. We now work to promote childhood literacy, alleviate food insecurity, and share a peaceful green space with our neighbors.
Job Description:
The program assistant will work closely with our executive and program directors to support a variety of tasks related to our gardening, school partnerships, and community initiatives.
Responsibilities:
Assist the library coordinator with classes for K-8 students Assist with library collection management and ordering Maintain social media accounts and web presence for program Help create marketing materials•flyers, newsletters, blog posts Manage volunteer records and onboarding for garden and literacy programs Assist with outdoor education trip scheduling Assist with fundraising and development database entry
Requirements:
Excellent communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills Experience with Canva, Mailchimp, WordPress or similar communication platforms Demonstrated skill in managing projects Must complete mandatory clearances as required by the school district Interest in community development and empowerment in an urban neighborhood Ability to create and build positive relationships with a wide variety of people Bilingual (Spanish language) preferred Ability to work independently
Hours:
Tuesday•Friday from 9:00•3:00pm
Location:
Bethune Elementary (3301 Old York Road) and Historic Germantown (5501 Germantown Ave) with the ability to work at least one day a week remotely.
