Job Description

Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make an impact in education during the 2026-2027 school year by supporting students in classrooms across Carbon and Lehigh Counties. Multiple paraprofessional opportunities are available for enthusiastic candidates seeking a rewarding contract assignment. Assignments begin August 10, 2026 (with limited hours for Opening Day and Summer Academy) and regular school hours commence later that month, following your specific school's calendar.
Key Experience and Credentials:
At least one year of experience as a paraprofessional in a school or special education environment Must live within a 35-minute commute of either Lehigh County or Carbon County Available to work a variety of school schedules (start times as early as 7:00 AM, end times as late as 3:30 PM) Ability to handle challenging behaviors, occasional lifting, diapering, toileting, and crisis situations as needed Meet at least one Pennsylvania paraprofessional qualification requirement: Two years of post-secondary study (48 college credits) Associate degree or higher Completion or willingness to complete state/local assessment for paraprofessionals within 60 days of hire Reliable transportation and consistent attendance Willingness to complete the full credentialing and onboarding process, including in-person interview
Core Responsibilities:
Collaborate with teachers and staff to foster student engagement and support individualized learning Assist with classroom management, behavior intervention, and one-on-one support Help students with personal care as needed Ensure a safe, positive, and inclusive environment in diverse classroom settings Adapt readily to assignments in various schools and programs
