Job Description

WeeConnect Early Learning Center is looking for a caring, reliable, and motivated Assistant Teacher/Assistant Group Supervisor (AGS) to support our classrooms serving young children of all abilities. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working as part of a collaborative team and is passionate about creating a warm, inclusive environment where children can learn, grow, and feel supported. WeeConnect is an inclusive early learning program located in York, PA. Our unique schedule offers a shorter program day, with operating hours from 8:30 AM to 3:00 PM . Position Responsibilities Support the Lead Teacher in carrying out daily classroom activities and curriculum Assist with implementing developmentally appropriate lessons and learning experiences Provide social-emotional support and help children build positive relationships Engage children in play-based learning, small group work, and individual activities Help maintain a structured, positive classroom environment Ensure the health, safety, and supervision of all children at all times Keep the classroom organized, clean, and ready for learning Communicate respectfully and professionally with families Participate in team meetings and professional development opportunities Qualifications & Skills Knowledge of early childhood development and best practices Experience working with young children (childcare, preschool, or daycare experience preferred) Comfort supporting children with diverse developmental needs and abilities Ability to work effectively as part of a team Strong classroom support and behavior guidance skills Experience with toddlers or preschool-age children is a plus Requirements Physical exam and TB test Two written professional (non-family) references Criminal background check Child Abuse Clearance FBI Fingerprint Clearance PA State Police Background Check NSOR Clearance Verification of education, childcare experience, and training Additional Duties May Include Supporting children individually or in small groups to reinforce skills introduced by the Lead Teacher Assisting with daily routines, transitions, and classroom organization Helping create a safe, nurturing, and engaging learning environment If you are passionate about early childhood education and want to make a meaningful impact in an inclusive program that supports children and families, we encourage you to apply and join the WeeConnect team.
