Job Description

Summer Program Assistant - Job Description We are currently seeking a responsible, organized, and communicative assistant to support a high school student summer program in the Greater Boston area. This role is designed for someone who wants to build up and practice project management skills, enjoys working with students, is interested in STEM education and comfortable communicating across cultures and scenarios, and can help ensure that students have a safe, smooth, and positive experience throughout the program. This position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in student support, program coordination, logistics, and international education. Location The Great Boston area, primarily around Waltham/Wellesley, MA Program Dates July 26-August 8, 2026 Weekdays and weekends as needed, based on program activities and needs Pre-program online training and coordination will be required prior to the start date
Work Arrangement:
Hybrid, with both remote coordination and on-site support as needed
Compensation:
Commensurate with background and qualifications Key Responsibilities Assist with pre-program preparation and orientation, helping students understand the program schedule, expectations, and support procedures. Serve as a liaison between students, families, camp staff, and the program team, and help address student needs related to academics, daily life, or campus routines in a timely manner. Conduct regular student check-ins, including on-site afternoon visits and online morning/evening safety check-ins, to support student well-being and ensure students are following program expectations. Support weekend excursions, student activities, and other scheduled program events according to the program itinerary. Assist with arrival and departure logistics. Provide daily parent updates with photos and brief notes about students' activities and overall program experience, and assist with other reasonable responsibilities upon mutual agreement. Candidate Qualifications Proficiency in Chinese and English is strongly preferred, especially for communication with students and families Strong sense of responsibility and attention to detail Excellent communication skills and the ability to work with high school students in a patient, supportive, and professional manner Strong organizational skills and the ability to follow procedures carefully Ability to work independently, respond to changing situations, and solve problems proactively A valid U.S. driver's license and the ability to drive are strongly preferred Access to a personal vehicle is preferred Candidates living near Wellesley, Waltham, Newton, or the Greater Boston area are preferred Interest in education, youth development, international programs, or cross-cultural communication is a plus Must be legally authorized to work or intern in the United States. F-1 visa holders may apply if eligible for CPT/OPT What We Offer Practical experience in student support, program operations, and international education Exposure to cross-cultural communication and high school student programming A collaborative and supportive working environment Flexible work arrangement combining remote coordination and on-site responsibilities A letter of recommendation may be provided upon successful completion of the program, based on performance.
