The University of Texas at Austin High School District offers two online high schools to over 1000 full time students, and online courses, exams, and services to thousands of students and educators across Texas and beyond. The UTHS District team members work on-site at the UT-Austin Main Campus. UTHS District is an accredited public high school district, designated as a special purpose district established in 1999.

Description/Notes:
This position requires reporting to work on the UT Austin main campus; however, currently the UT High School District is piloting a hybrid remote schedule. This position requires remote internet access.
Purpose:
Assist classroom teacher with instruction and supervision of students.
Responsibilities:
  • Works with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of instruction that adheres to the school's philosophy, goals and objectives.
  • Works with the teacher in making purposeful and appropriate lesson plans that provide for effective teaching strategies and maximize time on task.
  • Works with the teacher in planning and implementing a program of study designed to meet individual needs of students.
  • Works with the teacher in creating an environment conducive to learning by employing a variety of appropriate teaching strategies.
  • Works with the teacher in encouraging student enthusiasm for the learning process and the development of good study habits.
  • Works with the teacher in providing progress through authentic observations.
  • Uses effective oral and written expression.
  • Works with the teacher in recognizing learning problems and makes referrals as appropriate alongside the teacher.
  • Works with the teacher in developing, in accordance with school guidelines, reasonable rules of engagement behaviors and appropriate techniques that are consistently applied.
  • Shares responsibility during the school day for the supervision and engagement of students.
  • Works with the teacher in providing for the supervision of assigned students when circumstances require a brief absence from the assignment.
  • Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Required Qualifications:
Educational Aide III certification. Ability to work well with children. Ability to maintain data on students. Strong organizational,munication, and interpersonal skills. General knowledge of office equipment. High School Diploma or GED equivalency. Copy of high school diploma and
OFFICIAL
college transcripts from each college attended will be required upon employment. Educational Aide III Certificate from the State Board for Educator Certification within 90 days of employment. All positions at the university are security sensitive and a background check will be conducted on all new applicants hired. Relevant education and experience may be substituted as appropriate.
Preferred Qualifications:
At least two years of experience. Satisfactory oues of fingerprinting and criminal background check required.
Salary Range:
