Do you have experience working with young people and a passion for making a positive difference? Teaching Personnel is currently seeking enthusiastic and resilient individuals to work as Behaviour Support Teaching Assistants in secondary schools across Newport and the surrounding areas. You do not need formal teaching qualifications or previous school experience to be considered. We are looking for individuals with the right attitude, strong communication skills, and a genuine desire to support young people who may be facing behavioural, social, emotional, or learning challenges. This is an excellent opportunity for those looking to gain valuable experience within education, psychology, youth work, social care, or behaviour support. About the Role As a Behaviour Support Teaching Assistant, you will work closely with students who require additional support to engage successfully in education.
Your responsibilities may include:
Supporting students on a 1:1 basis and in small groups Encouraging positive behaviour and engagement in lessons Building strong, professional relationships with pupils Supporting students with emotional regulation and wellbeing Assisting teachers in creating a positive learning environment Helping students overcome barriers to learning Working alongside pastoral teams and teaching staff to support student progress Every day will bring new challenges and opportunities to make a meaningful impact. Who We're Looking For We welcome applications from candidates with experience in: Youth Work Care and Support Work Sports Coaching Residential Care Mentoring Community Work Military Backgrounds Psychology or Education Graduates The ideal candidate will be: Patient, resilient, and approachable Confident communicating with young people Able to remain calm in challenging situations Passionate about supporting vulnerable learners Committed to helping students achieve their potential No teaching qualification is required for this role.
