The Teacher's Assistant plays a vital role in supporting the classroom teacher(s) and enhancing the learning environment for students. This position requires a high degree of flexibility and adaptability to assist with various daily duties, ensuring the smooth operation of the classroom and contributing to a positive and productive educational experience.Key Responsibilities:
Instructional Support:
Assist the classroom teacher with preparing and organizing instructional materials, including setting up and putting away supplies for lessons and activities. Provide individualized or small-group support to students, reinforcing concepts taught by the teacher and assisting with assignments. Help supervise students during classroom activities, group work, and transitions.Classroom Management & Environment:
Support the teacher in maintaining a positive, safe, and organized classroom environment conducive to learning. Assist with student supervision during non-instructional times, such as recess, lunch, or special events. Help manage classroom routines and transitions effectively.Administrative & Clerical Duties:
Perform general administrative tasks, including making copies, organizing files, preparing handouts, and maintaining classroom records as directed by the teacher. Help with classroom decoration and bulletin board displays.Student Support:
Foster positive relationships with students, encouraging their engagement and participation.Flexibility & Adaptability:
Be prepared to shift priorities and tasks as classroom needs change throughout the day. Willingness to assist in various grade levels or classrooms as needed by school administration or in response to unexpected situations. Ability to take initiative and anticipate needs in a dynamic educational setting.Qualifications:
High School Diploma or equivalent required.Skills and Attributes:
Strong organizational skills and attention to detail. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills when interacting with students, teachers, parents, and staff. Patience, empathy, and a genuine love for working with children. Ability to work effectively as part of a team. Proactive and able to take initiative with minimal supervision. Reliable and punctual in regards to time and transportation.Job Type:
