Category Schools - Paraprofessional Job Type Contract Make a real difference in students' lives as a dedicated paraprofessional supporting classrooms in a dynamic school environment near Wood River Junction, RI. Desired Skills & Experience:
Previous experience as a paraprofessional or in a similar educational support role is preferred. Ability to collaborate effectively with teachers, staff, and students. Patience, empathy, and a genuine commitment to helping children succeed. Strong communication and organizational skills. Flexibility to support students with diverse needs in various classroom settings. Ability to follow individualized education plans (IEPs) under teacher supervision.
Responsibilities:
Provide classroom support, reinforcing lessons and assisting students with assignments. Help facilitate a positive, inclusive environment by encouraging participation and respectful behavior. Assist in implementing educational strategies tailored to individual learning styles. Supervise students during class activities, transitions, and lunch/recess as needed. Offer one-on-one or small group support to help students meet learning objectives. Support teachers in monitoring student progress and maintaining classroom organization.
