Job Description

Get Savvy with Your Job Selection! Select Savvy is seeking a dedicated and student-focused Special Education Teacher for a Behavioral Support Classroom in Charleston, South Carolina. In this role, you will provide specialized instruction and behavioral support to students with diverse learning and social-emotional needs, helping them achieve academic success while fostering a safe, structured, and supportive learning environment. What We Offer Free CEUs to support your continued growth Weekly pay for consistency and convenience Professional development stipend Comprehensive benefits including medical, dental, and vision insurance Wellness program to support your personal well-being Requirements Active South Carolina Special Education teaching license (required) Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education or related field Experience working with students with behavioral, emotional, or social-emotional needs preferred Strong classroom management and behavior intervention skills Excellent communication, collaboration, and problem-solving abilities Key Responsibilities Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) tailored to student needs Provide differentiated instruction in a behavioral support classroom setting Implement positive behavior interventions and support strategies to promote student success Create and maintain a structured, safe, and inclusive learning environment Monitor and document student progress toward academic and behavioral goals Collaborate with families, administrators, counselors, behavior specialists, and multidisciplinary teams Utilize data-driven practices to adjust instruction and interventions as needed Maintain compliance with state and federal special education regulations Preferred Experience Experience working in behavioral support, self-contained, or alternative educational settings Familiarity with behavior intervention plans (BIPs), functional behavior assessments (FBAs), and positive behavior supports Experience supporting students with emotional disabilities, Autism Spectrum Disorder, or other exceptional needs About Us Select Savvy is a boutique search and staffing firm dedicated to connecting exceptional talent with meaningful opportunities.
