Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor Southeastern Health and Wellness Institute - 3.7 Columbia, SC Job Details Part-time $25 an hour 7 hours ago Qualifications Anatomy knowledge Vital signs Sanitation Medical terminology Marketing Full Job Description Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor - E vening Part-Time Instructor Position Summary The Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor is responsible for delivering high-quality instruction, clinical skills training, and professional mentorship to students enrolled in the Clinical Medical Assistant Program at Southeastern Health and Wellness Institute. This position ensures that students receive comprehensive theoretical instruction and hands-on clinical preparation aligned with program objectives, industry standards, and state and federal regulations. The Instructor fosters a structured, supportive learning environment that promotes academic excellence, professionalism, and workforce readiness. The Clinical Medical Assistant Instructor reports directly to the Education Director and Campus Leadership. Primary Responsibilities Instruction and Curriculum Delivery Deliver classroom, laboratory, and clinical instruction in accordance with the approved Clinical Medical Assistant curriculum. Prepare lesson plans that align with program objectives and learning outcomes. Provide instruction in medical terminology, anatomy and physiology, pharmacology basics, clinical procedures, infection control, patient care, medical law and ethics, electronic health records, and administrative functions. Demonstrate and supervise clinical skills including vital signs, injections (as permitted by regulation), phlebotomy (if applicable), EKGs, specimen collection, and basic laboratory procedures. Ensure instruction incorporates both theoretical knowledge and hands-on practical application. Student Skills Development Supervise and evaluate students during laboratory and simulated clinical activities. Ensure students adhere to safety, sanitation, and HIPAA standards during training. Provide ongoing feedback and remediation as necessary. Promote professionalism, punctuality, communication skills, and ethical conduct. Prepare students for certification examinations where applicable. Academic Assessment and Documentation Administer quizzes, exams, and skills competency evaluations. Maintain accurate attendance, grade records, and progress reports. Monitor student academic progress and notify Education Leadership of concerns. Participate in student advising and retention initiatives. Ensure all documentation complies with institutional, accreditation, and regulatory requirements. Clinical and Safety Compliance Maintain a safe and compliant laboratory environment. Ensure proper handling and disposal of medical supplies and biohazard materials. Monitor equipment functionality and report maintenance needs. Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and infection control guidelines. Participate in audits, inspections, and regulatory reviews as required. Program Development and Institutional Support Collaborate with Education Leadership on curriculum updates and improvements. Assist in maintaining accreditation standards and regulatory compliance. Participate in faculty meetings, training sessions, and professional development activities. Support campus orientations, open houses, graduation ceremonies, and promotional events. Assist with daily social media filming or marketing initiatives as requested, ensuring clinical areas are professional and compliant. Performs other responsibilities as requested by the Education Director, Chief Administrative Officer, and Chief Executive Officer. Classroom and Professional Standards Maintain an organized, structured, and respectful learning environment. Uphold dress code and professional standards consistent with healthcare industry expectations. Model professional behavior, ethical practice, and patient-centered care. Ensure all students understand and follow institutional policies and safety protocols.
