POSITION ANNOUNCEMENT
Welding Technology Instructor Southern Regional Technology Center TCAT Pulaski is accepting applications for the full-time position Welding Technology Instructor to be located at the Southern Regional Technology Center on Columbia State Community College's main campus.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum three (3) years of current work experience High school diploma or equivalent
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Industry certifications such as Certified Welding Inspector (CWI) Technical Diploma or higher in Welding or equivalent Prior teaching experience
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES
Working knowledge of all aspects of the Welding industry Possess the organizational and communication skills necessary to interact effectively with both adult and high school CTE students as well as faculty, staff, the public, and business/industry representatives Must be willing to learn and use classroom management best practices and individualized instructional techniques Willingness to remain current in the field Evidence of potential teaching ability Must possess the computer skills necessary to be an effective instructor
GENERAL DUTIES
Instruction in modern welding techniques, shop safety, job success, metallurgy, blueprint reading, welding symbols, fitting, and fabrication Provide theory and hands-on skills instruction in areas including, but not limited to: Gas Metal Arc Welding, Shielded Metal Arc Welding, Flux Core Arc Welding, Gas Tungsten Arc Welding, oxy-fuel cutting, and plasma arc cutting Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' performance and progress; maintain appropriate records; prepare and submit timely reports Develop lesson plans and curriculum Assist with recruitment and placement of students Maintain lab and equipment Participate in program improvement and accreditation Engage with industry partners Maintain an active Program Advisory Board Participate in in-service training, workshops, and other programs for professional growth. Participate in student organizations (SkillsUSA, etc.) Maintain a well-organized, safe, and clean lab and/or classroom Be responsible for equipment and supplies assigned to the lab and/or classroom Supervise and follow-up students participating in Work-Based Activities Teach the Work Ethics curriculum Perform other duties as directed and assigned by the administration
SALARY:
In accordance with guidelines established by the Tennessee Board of Regents and the Tennessee Colleges of Applied Technology.
