Apr 15, 2026 1:07 PM (UTC) Job Description Special Education Assistant Greenwood School District 50 - 2025-2026 School Year Greenwood School District 50 is seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Education Assistants to support students and teachers in creating a safe, positive, and inclusive learning environment.

Responsibilities:

Assist the classroom teacher and provide direct support to students as outlined in their IEPs Supervise and assist assigned students throughout the school day, including during transitions, meals, and classroom activities Maintain confidentiality and professional conduct at all times Participate in training and professional development as assigned Build supportive relationships with students, staff, and families

Qualifications:

Sixty (60) semester hours of postsecondary coursework, or an associate's degree, or successful completion of the ParaPro Assessment Strong communication and teamwork skills Ability to support students with patience, empathy, and consistency Physical ability to lift/move up to 50 lbs. and assist with student mobility as needed

Work Schedule & Pay:

180 days per year, 7.5 hours per day Salary determined by the district's Classified Salary Schedule
