Job Description

POSITION DESCRIPTION POSITION TITLE
Education Paraprofessional
REQUIREMENTS
Education:
High School Diploma or GED Experience:
None. One year in similar position preferred.
Physical Requirements:
Constant hand-eye/mind-eye coordination. Frequent walking, speaking, writing, bending, carrying, pushing, pulling, sitting, and turning. Some lifting up to 30 lbs. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions of this position.
Other Requirements:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Computer proficiency in word processing, spreadsheets, data entry, email, and internet. Ability to keep student information confidential.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS & DUTIES
Prepares instructional materials as directed/selected by teacher. Reinforces instructional/behavioral objectives. Assists students one to one and in small groups. Meets with teachers, counselors, and administrators regarding academic concerns of students. Provides assistance to maintaining student records. Supervises students in the absence of teacher. Escorts students to various areas of the building. Monitors students during recess, lunchroom, study halls, and in hallways. Corrects student assignments. Participates in cross walk duty rotation before and after school hours at elementary schools. Provides assistance to students with special daily needs (toileting, feeding, physical management). Assists in supervising noon duty and playground periods. Assists in preparing instructional materials. Performs other duties as assigned.
