Open Until Filled This is a Part-Time >= 30 Hours Weekly position with the Military. For more information on the Department of the Military, please visit http://military.sd.gov/ . The South Dakota Army National Guard is seeking a customer-oriented professional to serve in the Billeting Office located within the 196th Regimental Training Institute (RTI) unit area at the South Dakota Army National Guard Armory. This role is critical to maintaining high-quality lodging operations and providing exceptional customer service to service members, federal employees, and authorized guests. This position operates primarily within a professional office environment, offering a stable and structured schedule designed to support mission-essential coordination. The standard work schedule for this position is Monday through Friday, from 10:30 AM to 5:00 PM. Hours may vary slightly to accommodate after-hours emergencies or to coordinate reservations and support for the South Dakota National Guard. Occasional multi-day travel may be required to facilitate lodging logistics, attend key organizational meetings, or participate in professional development.
Key Responsibilities:
act as the primary point of contact for lodging reservations; resolve customer complaints and service issues professionally; promptly manage and respond to incoming emails and voicemails. The individual selected will undergo a National Security Check to obtain a Common Access Card for access to state and federal computer systems. Successful applicant(s) will be required to undergo a background investigation. An arrest/conviction record will not necessarily bar employment.
The Ideal Candidate Will Have:
A bachelor's degree or experience in Accounting, Business Management, Hotel Management, or Marketing is preferred.
Knowledge of:
Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Teams, Outlook); Adobe software; basic accounting and financial principles.
Skills to:
multitask; communicate effectively; solve problems; manage customer reservations; maintain records in an organized manner.
Ability to:
provide excellent customer service; communicate effectively; follow written and verbal directions; learn military rank structure; compare information and resolve discrepancies; establish and maintain working relationships with vendors, department officials, and guests.
