Signal Centers is looking for a Special Education Support Paraprofessional to work with children in our
PRESCHOOL AGE
CLASSROOMS and support those with special needs. We have 2 part-time positions to fill, Monday - Friday, available shifts are 1:30-5:30pm.
Qualifications Include :
HS Diploma/GED required. Must be at least 18 years of age and have a High school Diploma/GED. Must have at least one-year experience working with children 6 wks - 5 yrs old in a professional childcare setting. Experience working with children or adults with special needs is highly desirable. Knowledge of childcare licensing rules is highly desirable. Willingness to obtain a CDA (Child Dev. Associate) Certificate is highly desirable for advancement opportunities. Will be required to get TBI Fingerprinting and a health screening with TB skin test completed.
Responsibilities Include :
Follow positive discipline procedures as directed. Primarily responsible for following the TN Diapering process for those students not toilet trained. Primarily responsible for maintaining mealtime health practices by prepping and cleaning tables and supplies for breakfast and lunch. Primarily responsible for maintaining weekly and/or daily rest-time laundry. Primarily responsible for prepping soap/water cleaning solution when needed and fill sanitizing/disinfecting bleach water solution at the end of shift each day for the following day. Assist in maintaining equipment, toys, and materials in a clean, safe, organized, and accessible order. Assist in preparing supplies/materials. Actively participate in daily activities that are developmentally appropriate. Observe children for signs of illness\sickness. Treat children, parents, and staff with respect. Maintain a harmonious working relationship. Refer parent questions, comments and/or concerns to the Lead Teacher, Coordinator, or Director/Asst. Director as needed. Follow confidentiality standards regarding students and their families. Quickly respond to personal needs of children. Other duties as assigned by the Lead Teacher, Coordinator, or Director/Asst. Director. Participates in at least 42 hours of continuing education annually.
