LEAD TEACHER JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
We are looking for a passionate Early Childhood General Education Lead Teacher to join our team. As a ECE Lead Teacher, you will be responsible for creating a stimulating and enriching learning environment for young children to learn and grow. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES
Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:
  • Implementing developmentally age-appropriate lesson plans
  • Providing care and support for toddlers
  • Managing classroom behavior effectively
  • Developing engaging curriculum activities
  • Educating children on early childhood development principles
  • Ensuring a healthy classroom environment to maintain appropriate hygiene and cleanliness standards
  • Promoting healthy family relationships that encourage family involvement
  • Maintaining accurate records, forms, and files
  • Adhere to all DHS state regulations and requirements
  • Maintain a professional development plan to ensure continuous quality improvement
  • Perform other job-related duties as deemed necessary by the facility director
ASSISTANT TEACHER JOB DESCRIPTION
The Assistant Teacher serves as a support to the Lead Teacher in managing the assigned classroom to establish a healthy, enriching, teaching environment. This person will exhibit excellent listening and communication skills, along with interpersonal skills in dealing with children, parents and other staff members. The Assistant Teacher will be under the direct supervision of the Lead Teacher. We are looking to fill part time and full time positions. Hourly rate will be determined commensurate with credentials of the candidate.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES
Support the Lead Teacher in implementing weekly lesson plans. Give assistance to ensuring the health, safety and engagement of every child in the classroom. Assist in setting up each learning center with activities current with the teaching topic. Support teaching by engaging in active play with children. Provide needed help with additional scheduled activities, such as snack time, lunch, bathroom breaks, naptime, and outside play. Assist with the cleaning and maintenance of classroom supplies and equipment. Perform the duties of the Lead Teacher when necessary. Attend scheduled staff meetings, training events, and other scheduled events for the center. Adhere to all DHS state rules and regulations and requirements related to licensing. Maintain commitment to professionalism by promoting center's philosophy and objectives and support NAEYC Code of Ethical Conduct. Perform other job-related duties as deemed necessary by the lead teacher or facility director.
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
PROFESSIONAL:
TECTA Certification
  • Recommended 2+ years of teaching experience
  • Recommended
PERSONAL
  • Uphold a healthy, personal relationship with Jesus Christ
  • 2+ years of teaching experience in preschool or daycare settings
  • Strong background in lesson planning and curriculum development
  • Knowledge of behavior management techniques
  • A degree in Early Childhood Education or related field is preferred
  • TECTA (Tennessee Early Childhood Training Alliance) Certification preferred
  • Understanding of childhood development principles
  • Ability to educate and engage young learners effectively
  • First Aid/CPR training certification
