Job Description

Position Announcement Welding Technology Associate Instructor - Newbern Evening The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest is accepting applications for a full-time Welding Technology Associate Instructor for the evening program at our Newbern Campus. Hours are Monday through Friday from 1:00 P.M. to 9:30 P.M.
Minimum Qualifications :
Minimum of Technical Diploma in instructional area or equivalent higher education training with credentials in related field. Associate degree preferred. Minimum three (3) years of experience in the welding field within the last five (5) years. Must possess all required certifications for the field or the ability to become certified within three (3) calendar months. Required certifications include OSHA-10. AWS, CWE, CWI, and ASNT Visual Inspector Level II certifications a plus. Must possess computer skills. Strong hands-on technical background in the field of instruction. Must possess the communication skills necessary to be an effective teacher and interact with high school and adult students. Must possess a high degree of knowledge in the following areas: Shielded Metal Arc Welding (SMAW), Gas Metal Arc Welding (GMAW), Gas Tungsten Arc Welding (GTAW) and Flux Core Arc Welding (FCAW); symbols and blueprint reading; cutting techniques; grinding; metal preparation; metallurgy; layout; fabrication; power tools; and measurement techniques.
General Duties :
Provide instruction to students in all areas of the Welding Technology Program curriculum. Monitor, grade, and evaluate individual students' progress. Maintain appropriate records and submit timely reports. Ensure efficient and safe delivery of instruction to students. Perform related tasks and other duties as assigned.
