Primary Purpose:
Work under general supervision to assist students and teachers and be responsible for developing and implementing a comprehensive curriculum that integrates art and STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics) concepts. The teacher will foster a love of creativity and innovation in students while building their critical thinking and problem-solving
Education/Certification:
High school diploma or General Educational Development (GED) certificate
Texas instructional aide certificate
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Strong knowledge of art techniques, principles, and STEM concepts.
Ability to create engaging, hands-on learning experiences.
Proficiency in using educational technology and digital tools.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong organizational and time management abilities.
Ability to foster a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
Experience:
2 years' experience working with children
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Instructional Support
Design and implement engaging and age-appropriate lessons that integrate art and STEM concepts, aligned with state standards and school objectives.
Maintain a positive and inclusive classroom environment conducive to student learning, creativity, and collaboration.
Teach art techniques, principles of design, and basic concepts of STEM through hands-on projects, experiments, and creative activities.
Evaluate and monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments, providing constructive feedback to students and parents.
Utilize educational technology tools to enhance learning experiences and introduce students to digital art, coding, robotics, and other STEM-related activities.
Work closely with other teachers, staff, and administrators to develop interdisciplinary projects and school-wide events, such as art exhibits, and showcases at our campus or in the community.
Participate in ongoing professional development to stay current with educational trends, best practices, and new technologies in both art and STEM education.
Ensure that all classroom activities comply with school policies and safety regulations.
Regularly communicate with teachers/admins regarding student progress, discipline, upcoming projects, and ways they can support learning at home.
Classroom Management and Organization
Create environment conducive to learning and appropriate for the physical, social, and emotional development of students.
Manage student behavior in accordance with Student Code of Conduct and student handbook.
Take all necessary and reasonable precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities.
Compile, maintain, and file all reports, records, and other documents required.
Help supervise students during arrival and dismissal from school.
Other
Assist with office and workroom clerical duties as needed.
Maintain confidentiality.
Participate in staff development, faculty meetings, and special events as needed.
Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.
