Nature School Assistant Teacher River Legacy Nature Center Arlington, TX Job Details Part-time $14 - $16 an hour 22 hours ago Qualifications Interactive activities lessons (early childhood general education) Environmental education Full Job Description Responsible for assisting Nature School lead teacher as needed with the implementation of developmentally appropriate learning environments that provide hands-on/minds-on explorations of nature and experiences in art, music, literature, and socio-dramatic play through which children can deepen their conceptual understandings of the plant and animal life of River Legacy Parks. Responsible for assisting Nature School lead teachers with:
- classroom set up and clean up
- gathering and returning supplies, teaching or resource material
- caring for a sick or injured student until a parent picks up the child
- preparing for parent orientation, open house and registration
- a familiarity with the current, most effective pedagogical practices in environmental education Responsible for teaching the number of classes specified in the Nature School assistant contract for the thirty-week school year and two or four weeks of summer programming.
