Located within walking distance of the University of Texas, we strive to provide the highest quality education in an environment that supports the development of the whole child. We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Teacher Assistant to join our vibrant educational community. In this role, you will work closely with lead teachers and specialists in our prek4-2nd grade classrooms to support classroom activities, assist students with various learning needs, and help create an engaging and supportive environment for children of different ages and abilities. This paid position offers an excellent opportunity to gain hands-on experience in early childhood education and classroom management while making a meaningful difference in students' lives. Responsibilities Support lead teachers in grades prek4-2nd grade in implementing lesson plans across subjects such as literacy, math, and social skills, ensuring alignment with curriculum standards Maintain clear communication with teachers and specialists regarding student progress and behavioral concerns. Manage students within a classroom if the lead teacher has to step away or work iwth a small group Help with supervision of students before school and during recess Help with some other duties, such as setting out lunches and covering the front office Qualifications Prior experience working with children in educational or childcare settings, preferably in preschool or early childhood environments. Knowledge of childhood development principles and best practices in special education. Familiarity with classroom management techniques and behavior management strategies. Ability to communicate effectively Strong organizational skills with the ability to assist in lesson planning and curriculum implementation.
