This role is ideal for individuals interested in dance education, working with children and adults, and contributing to a creative and nurturing environment. The Assistant Dance Teacher will collaborate with lead instructors to deliver engaging dance classes, assist with lesson planning, and foster a positive learning atmosphere. This position offers valuable experience in dance instruction, classroom management, and educational development within a vibrant community setting. Responsibilities Assist lead dance instructors in delivering structured dance lessons across various styles such as ballet, theater dance, and contemporary. Support classroom management by maintaining a positive and disciplined environment conducive to learning. Help with curriculum development and adapt lesson plans to meet the needs of diverse student groups, including children, preschoolers, and adults. Engage students through tutoring and personalized attention to enhance their dance skills and confidence. Participate in classroom setup, organization of materials, and preparation of teaching aids such as photography or sewing projects related to costume design or props. Contribute to behavior management strategies to ensure safety and respectful conduct during classes. Support event preparations for performances or showcases, including costume fittings or theatrical elements if needed. Collaborate with team members on classroom experience improvements and innovative teaching methods. Skills Background in dance will be preferred but not needed. Experience working with children, preschoolers, or students with special needs; background in childhood development or early childhood education is a plus. Proficiency in curriculum development, lesson planning, and classroom management techniques. Ability to engage students through tutoring and adapt teaching strategies for different age groups and skill levels. Excellent communication skills for effective classroom instruction and collaboration with team members. Experience working with students in educational settings; familiarity with behavior management strategies is advantageous. Passion for fostering a positive learning environment that encourages creativity, confidence, and growth in dance and the arts.
