Job Description

Primary Purpose:
The primary purpose is to assist the Physical Education teacher in providing students with appropriate learning activities, instructional assistance, and other responsibilities as assigned. Position is for the 2026-2027 school year starting on August 3, 2026
Qualifications Education/Experience:
High School diploma or equivalent Highly Qualified status under No Child Left Behind (48+ college credit, Associates degree or higher, or an approved state/local academic assessment) Familiarity with rules of basic sports Ability to demonstrate basic motor skills Previous experience in an educational environment preferred
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Education Aide Certificate is required, but may be applied for once employed.
Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist teacher in preparing instructional materials and physical education assessments. Conduct instructional exercises assigned by the teacher and work with individual students or small groups. Provide assistance to teacher in keeping administrative records and required reports. Assist with inventory, care, and maintenance of equipment. Keep teacher informed of special needs or problems of individual students. Provide assistance/care in special circumstances. Maintain awareness of implementation Methods for instructional, self-help, and behavior management strategies pertinent to health and physical needs. Participate in meetings and training sessions as designed by District staff. Assist in campus duty assignments as required. Maintain confidentiality. Regular and consistent attendance. All other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions Mental/Physical/Environmental Demands :
Maintain emotional control under stress; frequent standing, stooping, bending, kneeling, pushing, pulling, and lifting.
