QUALIFICATIONS
  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Experience working with children
  • Skills to perform multiple tasks
  • Competence to operate standard office equipment and use pertinent software applications
  • Responsible and able to work independently
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to perform basic math, concept of grammar and punctuation and age appropriate activities
MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Plans under supervision of the teacher; make instructional presentations; conduct discussions; encourage practice; and correct student's work in a manner that promotes language competence
  • Establish a positive rapport with students, parents and school personnel
  • Work with individual students or small groups so that they may attain grade-level proficiency, and to remediate diagnosed weaknesses
  • Attend appropriate and required staff development to enhance instruction
  • Maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment
  • Maintain prompt and regular attendance
