About Our School Mountain West Montessori is a warm, child- centered Montessori community dedicated to fostering independence, curiosity, and a lifelong love of learning. We serve children in a thoughtfully prepared environment that supports each child's academic, social, and emotional development. Position Summary We are seeking a caring and dependable Montessori Assistant to support the Lead Guide in maintaining a calm, organized, and engaging classroom environment. The Montessori Assistant plays a vital role in supporting children's independence while ensuring a safe and respectful learning space. Key Responsibilities Support the Lead Guide in the daily operation of the classroom Assist in preparing and maintaining the Montessori environment Observe children and support their individual needs Model grace, courtesy, and respectful behavior Supervise children during work periods, transitions, and outdoor play Assist with classroom organization, cleaning, and material preparation and/or repair if applicable Communicate effectively with staff and follow school policies Qualifications High school diploma or equivalent (required) Experience working with children preferred (Montessori experience a plus) Understanding of or interest in Montessori philosophy Strong communication and teamwork skills CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain) Ability to meet licensing and background check requirements Lift up to 20 lbs. frequently and up to 50 lbs. occasionally to care for young children safely Assume postures at low levels (e.g., kneeling, stooping, bending, and sitting on the floor) as needed to communicate effectively with children What We Offer Supportive and collaborative work environment On-the-job training and mentorship Competitive hourly pay based on experience Professional development opportunities Paid time off and holidays (if applicable)
