Job Description

Job Summary We are a faith-based Christian child care center dedicated to providing a safe, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment where children can grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically. We are seeking a passionate, dependable, and energetic Assistant Teacher/Floater to join our team. The ideal candidate will have previous experience working in a licensed child care setting, be familiar with Texas Child Care Minimum Standards, and possess the required credentials and training necessary to work in a licensed child care facility. This position requires a caring individual who models Christian values, enjoys working with young children, and can support multiple classrooms while maintaining a positive and engaging learning environment. Responsibilities Assist Lead Teachers in implementing age-appropriate lesson plans and activities that support children's cognitive, social, emotional, physical, and spiritual development. Provide a nurturing, Christ-centered environment that reflects Christian values and promotes positive character development. Support classroom management and ensure children are supervised at all times in accordance with Texas Child Care Minimum Standards. Assist with daily routines, including meals, diapering, toileting, rest time, transitions, and playground supervision. Maintain a safe, clean, organized, and welcoming classroom environment. Support children with varying learning needs and developmental abilities. Encourage early literacy, language, math, and social-emotional development through hands-on learning experiences. Collaborate with teachers and administration to meet the individual needs of children and families. Communicate professionally and respectfully with parents, staff, and visitors. Ensure compliance with all licensing regulations, health and safety procedures, and center policies. Float between classrooms as needed to provide coverage and support while maintaining consistency in care and instruction. Qualifications Previous experience working in a licensed child care center, preschool, or early childhood education setting is required. Working knowledge of Texas Child Care Minimum Standards is preferred. Must meet all licensing requirements to work in a Texas child care facility, including: High School Diploma or GED Ability to pass required background checks Completion of required pre-service and ongoing training Current CPR/First Aid Certification (or willingness to obtain upon hire) Experience with infants, toddlers, and/or preschool-aged children preferred. Strong understanding of child development and developmentally appropriate practices. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team. Dependable, flexible, and able to adapt to the needs of multiple classrooms. Must demonstrate professionalism, integrity, and a commitment to supporting the Christian mission and values of the center.
