In this vital role, you will provide specialized behavioral support and instructional strategies to students with diverse learning needs, including those with developmental disabilities, autism spectrum disorder, and sensory impairments. Your expertise will help foster a positive learning environment, promote social-emotional growth, and support students in achieving their full potential. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children while collaborating with educators, families, and specialists to implement individualized education plans (IEPs) and evidence-based interventions. Duties Develop and implement tailored behavior management plans aligned with each student's IEP, utilizing applied behavior analysis (ABA), behavioral therapy techniques, and positive reinforcement strategies. Collaborate closely with classroom teachers, speech therapists, occupational therapists, and other specialists to integrate behavioral support into daily lessons and activities. Conduct ongoing assessments of student progress using standardized testing methods and observational data; adjust interventions accordingly to maximize effectiveness. Provide direct support to students during classroom activities, ensuring engagement, safety, and social-emotional development through effective behavior management techniques. Design and deliver curriculum modifications and instructional strategies that accommodate students' unique learning styles, including literacy education, math, early childhood education, and recreational therapy. Support the development of communication skills through speech therapy techniques and assist students with visual impairments or hearing challenges by implementing specialized instructional methods. Mentor classroom staff and provide training on behavior management best practices, classroom management skills, and the use of learning technology tools to enhance student outcomes. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in special education, psychology, child development or a related field; Master's degree preferred. Valid teaching certification/license for special education or equivalent credentials. Proven experience working with children with disabilities such as autism spectrum disorder, developmental delays, or sensory impairments in a classroom or therapeutic setting. Strong knowledge of behavioral health principles, applied behavior analysis (ABA), instructional design, and behavior management strategies. Familiarity with IEP development process, standardized testing procedures, and curriculum adaptation for diverse learners. Excellent communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, families, and community resources. Ability to manage classroom environments effectively while demonstrating patience and empathy for children's individual needs.
