Job Description

This Position is catered to an individual who brings their love of children and teaching into everything they do. They are someone who is eager to work with children ages 6 weeks-5 years. Someone who is inspired to create, educate, nurture and lead a thriving program for active kids. The role of the preschool floater teacher is to support the teaching staff in their time of absence by performing various tasks throughout the classroom and help foster the development of the children intellectually, socially, emotionally, and physically.
QUALIFICATIONS
❖ Have a high school degree or equivalent education AND at least one year of qualifying experience working with children 6 weeks to 5 years old ❖ Submit to various background checks including FBI Fingerprinting ❖ Be CPR, First Aid, Food Handler and COVID certified or obtain certification upon hire
REQUIRED EXPECTATIONS
❖ Be attentive and responsible in caring for high energy children ages 6 weeks-5yrs old ❖ Be agile in adapting to various child behaviors and in re-directing them to focus on set activities and conduct themselves safely and kindly to others ❖ Guide classroom and playtime activities and keep the flow of the day going smoothly ❖ Follow all policies and procedures set forth by The Morgan Center ❖ Must possess high energy, high emotional intelligence, flexibility and adaptability, love of learning, and knowledge of best practices pertaining to childcare
RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Including, but not limited to, the following: ❖ Maintain a safe learning environment that is responsive to the social/emotional, physical, cognitive, and language development of children in assigned classrooms. ❖ Execute each day's activities as directed.❖ Assist children with activities of daily life (restroom use, diapering, hand washing) ❖ Appropriately supervise children while keeping them safe at all times ❖ Work closely with co-teachers in implementing planned lesson. ❖ Creating and maintaining an environment that is clean, organized, and safe for all children ❖ Establish a professional level of rapport with each family in order to provide quality care and friendly service ❖ Be responsible for daily activities pertaining to eating, sleeping, and diaper changing ❖ Maintain a professional self-image and project the values of the organization at all times ❖ Be responsible for completing the required daily and weekly nap time tasks (when applicable) This shift will be part-Time Monday-Friday in the afternoon. Hours are expected to be from 12:30pm-6:00pm (or) 2:30pm-6:00pm.
