JOB SUMMARY
Work under general supervision to assist students and teachers in use of computers and educational software including programs designated for RtI intervention in campus computer lab
ESSENTIAL JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist teachers and students in use of computers, printers, and instructional software Work cooperatively with teachers regarding student progress on designated software and programs Facilitate student use of instructional and intervention programs Manage data on student progress and use of instructional and intervention programs Provide student reports for designated RtI intervention programs for use in campus collaborative conferences Maintain computer lab in a neat and orderly manner Perform computer backups on a regular basis Install a variety of computer programs following complex written instructions Detect and arrange for maintenance and repair of computer equipment Manage student behavior in the computer lab Attend required trainings related to job duties and responsibilities Performs related duties as required

Tools/Equipment Used:
Personal computer and peripherals; standard instructional equipment
Posture:
Prolonged standing; frequent kneeling/squatting, bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
Motion:
Frequent walking
Lifting:
Regular light lifting and carrying (less than 15 pounds)
Environment:
Work is located in a classroom environment; must have ability to move from one location to another throughout the district; regular exposure to noise
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under stress; work prolonged or irregular hours
MINIMUM EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION
High school diploma or equivalent essential Additional training beyond high school in C.P.R. and assertive discipline preferred Six months to one year experience in working with children preferred Texas Paraprofessional Certificate required
SPECIAL KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS
Must have knowledge of basic computer operations and skills. Ability to operate personal computer and educational software. Ability to work with students and teachers effectively. Ability to communicate effectively
