This position requires someone who is energetic, flexible, collaborative, and passionate about helping young children learn and grow. The ideal candidate is able to work closely with individual students and small groups, confidently reinforce classroom expectations, and step into instructional responsibilities when needed. This role is essential in helping the classroom run smoothly and ensuring students receive the support they need throughout the school day.

REQUIREMENTS

High School Diploma Elementary Education coursework, training, or experience (formal college education preferable)

RESPONSIBILITIES CLASSROOM INSTRUCTION & SUPPORT

Assist the classroom teacher with daily instruction and learning activities Work with students individually and in small groups to reinforce academic skills and concepts Lead small-group activities and learning stations as directed by the teacher Continue instruction or supervise learning activities when the teacher must step away briefly or attend to individual student needs Assist with student assessments and data collection as directed by the teacher

CLASSROOM MANAGEMENT

Support and reinforce classroom expectations and behavior management strategies Confidently redirect students in a respectful and consistent manner Help maintain a safe, orderly, and productive classroom environment Encourage positive social interactions and Christlike behavior among students

CLASSROOM OPERATIONS

Prepare and organize instructional materials for upcoming lessons Assist with routine classroom tasks, including: Setting out materials for lessons and activities Preparing rest mats Stuffing take-home folders Organizing supplies and classroom resources Helping maintain an orderly classroom environment Perform other classroom support duties as assigned

STUDENT SUPERVISION

Assist with recess supervision and other student monitoring responsibilities Help ensure student safety during transitions and throughout the school day
