Paraprofessional Lunch Monitor/Crossing Guard (26-27) Green ES Princeton Independent School District - 4.8 Princeton, TX Job Details Full-time 1 day ago Qualifications Transportation safety regulations Full Job Description This person works two parts of the job. In the morning, 7:30-8:30 AM, this person carries a stop sign with them as they help students cross from one side of the crosswalk to the other safely. This person also finishes the day from 3:30-4:00 for the afternoon with students returning home. Additionally, this person works in the cafeteria from 10:00-1:30. You'll help open milk and ketchup, etc., as well as maintain a reasonable noise level and behavior control in the cafeteria. Other staff will come in during their scheduled duties to assist in the cafeteria.
Qualifications:
Special Knowledge/Skills:
Basic knowledge of traffic safety regulations Ability to identify and respond quickly to traffic safety hazards Ability to communicate instructions effectively to both children and adults Ability to read, understand, and follow written instructions
Experience:
None Major Responsibilities and Duties:
Assist children and other community members to safely cross the street at assigned intersections during designated hours. Identify potential traffic safety hazards and respond quickly to protect children and avoid incidents. Ensure a smooth and expedient flow of both vehicular and foot traffic. Follow and uphold district safety requirements and report traffic violations and student misconduct in accordance with district procedures. Communicate safety and traffic rules to students and parents as needed. Correct unsafe conditions when possible and report any conditions that are not correctable to supervisor as soon as practicable. Follow district safety protocols and emergency procedures.

Work outside (prolonged exposure to extreme temperatures, sunlight, and humidity); constant exposure to noise and vehicle exhaust; work around moving vehicles and on slippery and uneven surfaces
Mental Demands:
Maintain emotional control under pressure; work with frequent interruption; may work alone
