Pottery Instructor + Studio Aide Stafford, TX Job Details Part-time $18 - $20 an hour 1 day ago Qualifications Classroom Teaching Adult learning Facilities maintenance Teaching Adult education Full Job Description Job Overview Oak Knoll Pottery is seeking an experienced ceramic artist to join our teaching team. We're looking for someone with 4-5+ years of ceramics experience who is confident on the wheel and comfortable guiding students in a supportive, community-focused studio environment. Teaching experience is welcome, but not required. Strong personal practice and technical skill are highly valued. Teaching Schedule (1-3 Classes) Sunday Monday evening Wednesday evening Instructor may teach 1, 2, or all 3 classes depending on availability and fit. Class times are around 2.5hrs long. Compensation (Teaching): $20 per student Minimum 4 students per class Maximum 8 students per class Studio Aide Responsibilities In addition to teaching, this role includes: 1 weekday morning shift 1 weekday evening shift Averages 8-10hrs of studio aide per week Compensation (Aide): $18 per hour Studio aide duties may include: Pugging and clay reclaim management Loading and unloading kilns Mixing and maintaining glazes General studio upkeep and organization Assisting with basic maintenance tasks Applicants do not need to know every aspect of studio maintenance, but must be open, proactive, and willing to learn where needed. Ideal Candidate 4-5+ years of ceramics experience Strong wheel-throwing foundation (handbuilding is a plus) Comfortable trimming, glazing, and basic studio processes Reliable, communicative, and self-directed Enjoys working with adult learners in a small studio setting This is a great opportunity for a practicing ceramic artist looking for consistent part-time income in a creative, community-driven environment.
